What a lovely reflection. Sometimes God wants us to be the children and let us be taken care of/planned for. It can be hard to let him do that when we’re in “mom mode” all the time! And so special to have a husband who can help talk the truth of God’s love to you. I struggle with some of the same spiritual tendencies (must earn God’s love etc) and my husband is often the one who helps me step outside of those unhealthy perceptions of God and see things differently
It can be so difficult- seeing God as Father has been one of the spiritual struggles of my life! Definitely where I've seen the most growth as well. And yes, thankful always for a husband who helps that truth get through those areas that are difficult to see clearly on my own- glad your husband does that for you too!
Thank you Lorelei. I think the Triune God cut us from the same cloth. At age 65, I too went out in the wee hours seeking to see those emerald green lights eminating from the Great White Throne. Here in little Mineral, TX just north of Corpus Christi I wasn't as blessed as you were.
Oh, but how many times have I been surprised by the Father's joy-filled presence in the circumstances and perfect timing of life--- witnessing to His Grace 'in living color'!
Divorced now, I still pray my wife will come to see that we are destined to finish this walk in the woods together, like it started at Eden State Park in FL in 1998.
Your deep reflection gives me hope and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
What a beautiful and blessed experience, Lorelei! Thank you for sharing.
